Proudly born Deaf on stolen lands, creating bold art across Naarm (Melbourne) and beyond!

G'day, my name's Jaycob Campbell, also known as Gonketa. I'm a Deaf visual artist based in Naarm (Melbourne). My work focuses on the movement and shapes formed by hands and gestures, which are central to my art. I paint with bold and vivid colours, using exaggerated expressions to explore these themes, emphasising their importance in visual communication. My aim is to promote self-determination for Auslan users and the Deaf community, leaving a mark and a legacy for the Deaf community, reminding everyone that we are always here.
